Clear Lake, Washington Relocation
Clear Lake is located in Skagit County, Washington. As of a 2000 census, Clear Lake served as a home for only 900 residents. As many towns in the state of Washington, Clear Lake was home to some of the finest timber in the world. Fir, cedar, hemlock, spruce, white pine, larch, and deciduous trees can be found in the area surrounding this small town.
In 1891, the community of Clear Lake finally began to grow as a shingle mill was built which was followed by other businesses coming in to support a growing population. By the beginning of 1892, the community of Cedar Lake was home to several hotels, a meat market, a telephone company, a community church, and a school building. In 1906, the community of Clear Lake had reached a population of 350 residents. Many of these residents had come in to town for a hand in this logging town and its logging camps that had sprawled throughout the area.
In 1925, the mill, the heart of the growing town, had failed and brought down many of communities businesses with it. Today, the town is almost seen as a struggeling ghost town compared to its former self
